ABOUT ME

Fifteen years ago, I came to London enticed by a job on one of the biggest TV shows at the time. I made friends, countless brews and worked hard, quickly realising that I was here to stay. So, as a naive runner with a Film & Media degree under my belt, I fibbed my way into a kit room, learnt how to fix things, blagged my way onto sets and embraced life as a freelancer.

Today, I’m now an experienced and licensed Sound Recordist within a network of industry professional crews working across prime time television, documentaries, commercials and online branded content.

My career has taken me all over the world, most recently working in extreme conditions filming underground within Siberian ice tunnels hunting for 50,000 year old mammoth remains (Discovery Channel - Ice Age: Return of the Mammoths). I’ve spent a week living on the amazon in Peru (Travel Channel), trawling hidden food markets in Malaysia (Good Food Network), worked on fast paced Formula E circuits in Mexico City (BBC Sport), and supported charity projects in challenging landscapes trekking across the mountains in Nepal (Save the Children).  In the UK, I have overseen complicated rigs for live sets on the main stage at Latitude Festival (Sky Art’s - Guitar Star) and worked across large rigs requiring multiple radio microphones (Sky Living - Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model) and supervised VT’s (BBC1 - Strictly Come Dancing).

In addition to TV productions, I have worked with a variety of high profile brands on advertisements and branded content including Waitrose, Audi, Redbull, Peroni, Samsung, Mornflake, Renault and Bacardi to name a few.

I pride myself on being able to put a contributor instantly at ease whether it’s a recognised talent or a nervous first-timer, and I am adept at working with sensitive subject matters including Alzheimer and Dementia, emotional trauma, mental and terminal illness, and fraud.

Fully CRB checked, I have a clean driving licence with use of my own vehicle and am confident working within a variety of locations, environments and to tight deadlines. Based primarily in London, I also have the use of permanent accommodation in Sydney, Australia. I also have an active i-Visa for any USA based shoots.

Finally, site photography is my own - a passion of mine.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Tom
